Avery Oye Death – Obituary
11-year-old child who died after he was struck by a pickup truck, has been identified as Avery Oye. The pickup truck was towing a boat near Mill Bay when the crash occurred.
Police say Oye, the cyclist, had failed to stop at the stop sign and made a left (northbound) turn onto Benko Road just after 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Benko Road and Kearny Place, Monday when the pickup truck driver was unable to stop in time and collided with the cyclist.
Before the paramedics should respond to the call, the cyclist was pronounced dead. Police say investigation, regarding the collision is ongoing.
”Knowing that there is almost nothing we can do as a community to help shoulder the weight of grief Avery’s parents are carrying, we are endeavoring to do whatever we can to support them on their journey and right now that looks like raising funds,” says the GoFundMe page.
