Madison Wessells Obituary-Death, Madison Wessells Has Died

Madison Wessell Death – Obituary – A nursing major in the Honors College, Madison Wessell, age 22 unexpectedly passed away September 13, 2021. Wessell was a Nurse Extern at Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals and studied Nursing at Longwood University after he went to Broadwater Academy.

Madison, who hailed from the Eastern Shore, loved Longwood and being a nurse – the profession has lost a great light. She worked as an EMT, and hoped to move back to the Eastern Shore after graduation to help her home community, especially those without access to health care, often saying her goal in life was to “help people on their worst day.” She was known as a curious student who welcomed challenging academic discussions, a deep thinker, and someone who lived to serve others.

Our thoughts go to her family, friends and teachers. Our hearts are especially heavy for those closest to her in the Honors College and her department.

”The loss of a student shakes our community profoundly, and we will grieve together. Memorial service arrangements have yet to be made, but we will share those with you when we have them. If you would like to speak with a grief counselor, please call CAPS at 434-395-2409 or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment…”

”I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that this has happened. Scrolling through my camera roll looking at pictures && videos it seems like we were all together just yesterday. Madison Wessells you are the most kind hearted, selfless person I’ve ever known. You were an amazing friend && listener. If anybody ever needed anything you were there without hesitation. You will always have a special place in my heart && you were truly such a special person.
I’m wishing I could’ve seen you one more time, had one more conversation with you, one more car ride with me rolling around in the back jamming out to music, one more laugh or inside joke. I know you are flying high && watching over all of us like you always have. I love you forever , thank you for all the great memories && see you later!….”

”It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts the Officers and Membership of Parksley Volunteer Fire Company announce the sudden passing of Emergency Medical Technician Madison Wessells. Madison obtained her EMT Certification and began helping her community prior to leaving for college at Longwood University to pursue her nursing degree. Madison had a passion to help others. She ran multiple ambulance calls and spent countless hours hanging around the station waiting for the opportunity to to help the community. Madison was constantly asking for help from senior members to further her knowledge. When home from College, she would make time to stop by the firehouse to try to “catch a call”. Madison was an absolute joy to be around; she was always smiling and would brighten your day just by being around. Madison’s sudden passing is a tremendous loss to the Eastern Shore Community and the entire medical field. Please keep Madison’s family, her firehouse family, and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
We will announce the services once they are planned….”

”I’m in class. Just found out about my heart Madison Wessells. I remember many good true moments between us as she came into her own at our firehouse and decided on her career. I remember her beautiful smile, generous heart, and her eagerness to belong and be involved, and to do good. I remember her graduating from high school, and how we were in EMT class together. She started out sitting by herself in the back, but as time went on she revealed her awesomeness and determination. We became extremely close. After she went to college I’d get random texts or messages or I’d send her little messages to see how she was. She’d be home from college and come to our firehouse and was so thrilled if we got to see each other THOSE HUGS THAT SMILE I will never ever forget her. I know her generous soft heart is with my Jesus but I’m devastated….”
