Death – Obituary

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a third person in connection with a November shooting that left one person dead in a suspected drug deal gone wrong.

Demetrious Brox Jr., 20, of Pontiac, is being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail without bond, facing charges of felony murder and armed robbery in connection with a Pontiac shooting that took place Sunday, Nov. 14.

Brox faces the charges along with two teenagers, Eric Burrell Jr., 16, of Pontiac, and Torrion Wilson, 17, who lists his residence as both Flint and Saginaw.

The felony murder charge carries a mandatory sentence of life without parole. Both Torrion Wilson and Burrell are being held without parole.

U.S. Marshals assisted in the arrest of Blox at the Northgate Inn in Kochville Township. During the arest, investigators found a loaded .32 caliber handgun, credit cards, and a substance suspected to be cocaine.

Burrell’s mother, Jennifer Wilson, 39, is charged with being an accessory after the fact. Jennifer Wilson is accused of driving Burrell, Torrion Wilson and Brox from the area to hide them and avoid arrest.

It is not believed that Torrion Wilson and Jennifer Wilson are related.

What Is An Obituary

In national newspapers an obituary (obit for short) is a news article that reports the recent death of a prominent person. Although it tends to focus on positive aspects of the subject’s life this is not always the case. According to Nigel Farndale, the Obituaries Editor of The Times: “Obits should be life affirming rather than gloomy, but they should also be opinionated, leaving the reader with a strong sense of whether the subject lived a good life or bad; whether they were right or wrong in the handling of their public affairs.”

In local newspapers, an obituary may be published for any local resident upon death. A necrology is a register or list of records of the deaths of people related to a particular organization, group or field, which may only contain the sparsest details, or small obituaries. Historical necrologies can be important sources of information.
