Rochester – Ardel Bernadette Taylor, 65, of Rochester, New York (formely of Aliquippa) was born April 14, 1956 to the late Hazel (Toto) Taylor and Jackie Jackson. She departed this life on December 13, 2021 in the Heritage Valley Hospital Sewickley with her loving family at her side.

She graduated from Aliquippa High School and worked at Woodlawn Cleaners. In addition to her parents, Ardel was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Zerie Taylor; two great aunts, Ruby Kimbrough and Exxie Oxendine.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Kyle Taylor, Sr in Ohio; two brothers, Terrence Taylor and Pastor Richard Jackson of Aliquippa; two sisters and a brother in law, Charmayne Taylor and Dyan (Michael) Moreland; 10 grandchildren, Shauntel Taylor, Shanaya Taylor, Kyle Taylor Jr., Ceona Polk, Raelynn Williams, Mayah McCuen, Kayla Taylor, Dominica Taylor, Zakhira Williams and Salaat Taylor; four great- grandchildren; a devoted niece and nephews Kyle, Semaj and Cherish Moreland; devoted friends, Linda Jones, Dreava Veney and Annie Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends..

Her Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 12:00 PM in The New Holy Temple Church, 4th Ave and Jefferson Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001.

In national newspapers an obituary (obit for short) is a news article that reports the recent death of a prominent person. Although it tends to focus on positive aspects of the subject’s life this is not always the case. According to Nigel Farndale, the Obituaries Editor of The Times: “Obits should be life affirming rather than gloomy, but they should also be opinionated, leaving the reader with a strong sense of whether the subject lived a good life or bad; whether they were right or wrong in the handling of their public affairs.”

In local newspapers, an obituary may be published for any local resident upon death. A necrology is a register or list of records of the deaths of people related to a particular organization, group or field, which may only contain the sparsest details, or small obituaries. Historical necrologies can be important sources of information.
