A second person in a deadly crash on I-75 in Scott County last Wednesday has died, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Emma Keyser 21, died Tuesday afternoon at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, the sheriff’s office said. She was the daughter of Debra Keyser, who died in the crash instantly.

Debra Keyser was a special education teacher at Wellington Elementary, according to the Fayette County Public Schools website.

The accident took place near the 122 mile marker around 7 p.m. last Wednesday. The sheriff’s office said the vehicle driven by Debra left the west side of I-75 southbound and struck a tree.

Emma was immediately transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office said a second vehicle was involved in the accident as well. WKYT reports Donald Duhamell was charged with DUI after that crash.

In national newspapers an obituary (obit for short) is a news article that reports the recent death of a prominent person. Although it tends to focus on positive aspects of the subject’s life this is not always the case. According to Nigel Farndale, the Obituaries Editor of The Times: “Obits should be life affirming rather than gloomy, but they should also be opinionated, leaving the reader with a strong sense of whether the subject lived a good life or bad; whether they were right or wrong in the handling of their public affairs.”

In local newspapers, an obituary may be published for any local resident upon death. A necrology is a register or list of records of the deaths of people related to a particular organization, group or field, which may only contain the sparsest details, or small obituaries. Historical necrologies can be important sources of information.
