Because they shoot over here so much, we got down on the floor.”Then, Holmes’ son looked outside and saw Cowart lying on the ground and bleeding.”We all took off out there and he was on the ground and I got down and I said, ‘Jamal! It’s Mommy. Can you hear me?’ But he didn’t respond and he had holes everywhere.”Cowart had four siblings. “It’s just unbelievable that he’s gone,” said Holmes. “You’ve got people out there who don’t care about life. And I’m just saying, I don’t want to bury my kids. I wanted my kids to bury me, and that’s every parent. Just pray for your kids and keep your eye on everything.”Family members say Cowart loved music, dancing and making people laugh and smile. They’re urging anyone who knows something about what happened to come forward and tell police.”If you know something, say something,” said Holmes. “Whoever killed my son, they’re going to get you. They’re going to get you and if they don’t, God will. You are going to pay.
