Success Preparatory Academy has announced the school will close Thursday for a day of mourning after two students were shot and killed within eight days of one another.Derrick Cash, 12, was shot and killed on Jan. 3 on Michoud Boulevard. His funeral services will be held Thursday. Dillan Burton, 7, was shot and killed on Dec. 26 while riding in the car with her mother. Her funeral was held last week, and classes were also canceled. In a statement, Success at Thurgood Marshall officials said: “We love all our children deeply, and there is no greater sadness than to lose one.
