The cause of death is said to be Covid19. ”On Saturday, 16th January 2021, SA, sadly lost another victim to Covid 19, Dr Pierre Botes (62). A brilliant & well-loved orthopedic surgeon from the Breërivervalley/Worcester district. He was also a gifted artist and writer. As a gallery owner, I had the honour of personally knowing him and hosting a solo exhibition for him in November 2018 as well as a special exhibition in October 2020, where he exhibited with his sister, Jeanette Barbara Du Plessis. My sincerest condolences to his wife, Arina, their 2 sons, Mother, Jeanette (sister), Stephan (brother) and all his loved ones. Thank you for your commitment to the community as medical practitioner & your beautiful works of art, your legacy will continue.
